CITY MAYOR TREÑAS BARES VACCINE PLAN: to submit Iloilo City’s COVID-19 recovery protocols today for approval by the Department of Health (DOH).
“We are ready,” Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas declared yesterday. He said the city government is also expecting anytime today the arrival of vaccine refrigerators from the DOH.
The mayor disclosed that the Jubilee Hall along Gen. Luna Street will be utilized as a centralized vaccine storage facility to be secured by the police as soon as the first batch of vaccines arrive.
As planned, there will be 4 or 5 vaccination centers in Iloilo City: at the Central Philippine University (CPU) in Jaro, ISAT University and WVSU in La Paz, Ateneo in Mandurriao and at the University of San Agustin in the city proper.
City government officials and other stakeholders have earlier conducted simulation exercises at the CPU campus to prepare for the actual implementation of the COVID-19 vaccinations.
