Capiz Rep. Emmanuel “Tawi” Billones said the 2020 national budget duration would be extended up to next year.
After the President’s SONA (State Of the Nation Address) next week Congress “would likely prioritize” a bill to amend the one year effectivity of the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA), Cong. Billones told HilwayNews today.
The extension is necessary after months of delay this year in the implementation of infrastructure projects across the country due to quarantine measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Congressman Billones met last week with the engineers of Capiz 1st District Engineering Office, DPWH on the status of various projects in the area.
Assistant District Engr. Ethel B. Morales briefed the Capiz solon on development and funding updates of projects categorized “for comprehensive release (FCR) ” and funding “for late release (FLR).”
Capiz 1st District covers the provincial capital Roxas City and the municipalities of Panit-an, Panay, Pontevedra, Maayon, Pres. Roxas, and Pilar.
Congressman Tawi Billones (LP) is a member of the House Committees on Flagship Programs and Projects, and Visayas Development.*
