Work at the Jalaur River Multi-purpose Project stage 2 (JRMP-II) with a reservoir dam in Calinog, Iloilo is on schedule.
Physical accomplishment on the project reached over 35% as of the third quarter this year, according to acting project manager Engr. Jonel B. Borres.
Manager Borres bared the assessment at a JRMP-II management meeting held this October.
The project components include a series of dams, high irrigation canal and appurtenances all costing about P11.2 billion slated for completion in 2022.
“If all of us will put our feet together to fill up the shoes left by Manager Corsiga and move in harmony towards one direction, no challenge will be big enough to stop us from reaching our goal,” Borres said.
JRMP-II project manager Gerardo Corsiga who was also then National Irrigation Administration (NIA) regional manager passed away last month after a lingering illness.
NIA administrator Ricardo Visaya subsequently streamlined the agency’s operations here by appointing Engr. Rory Avanse as NIA VI regional manager.
The NIA is a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC).
