City Police Director Batiles’ relief followed the day after a drug bust around midnight of January 25 in Zone 2 of Barangay Bakhaw in Mandurriao, Iloilo City where a record 32 suspects were arrested and P918,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized.
Police regional office (Pro)-6 Director, B/Gen. Leo Francisco said Batiles was replaced by Police Col. Joeresty Coronica.
Francisco clarified it was the Regional police drug enforcement unit (Rpdeu) that carried out the drug bust without coordination from the Mandurriao district police force to prevent information getting leaked.
