The remains of the late Ilongo solon were entombed at the Jaro Cathedral yesterday.
Leopoldo “Poldo” Hormillosa Locsin of Janiuay and Jaro, Iloilo City who passed away on December 25, 2020 due to cancer illness, was born on July 22, 1942.
He was elected Assemblyman of the Interim Batasang Pambansa (IBP) and served as one of the 16 legislators representing Western Visayas.from July 1978 to June 1984.
In 1981 as member of the IBP he was part of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the Constitutional amendments for the transition to parliamentary government in the country.
At the Batasan Locsin were contemporaries with 4 other assemblymen from Iloilo: Salvador Britanico, Fermin Caram Jr., Narciso Monfort and Niel Tupas.
On October 1, 1984 then President Ferdinand Marcos appointed Leopoldo Locsin Governor of Guimaras. He served as such until October 23, 1986.
Prior to his death Poldo Locsin was Chairman of the Board of Directors at Janiuay Rural Bank Inc.
