DISTURA BATS FOR ‘ILOILO SCHOOLS HAVING ACCESS TO RENEWABLE ENERGY’

Coming soon, “I-SHARE” or Iloilo Schools Having Access to Renewable Energy authored by Iloilo 4th district board member Rolando Distura of Dumangas.

“I am eyeing to tap a certain percentage of the Special Education Fund (SEF) as source of fund for continuing appropriation to this provincial ordinance,” Distura told HilwayNews recently.

Now at the committee level the proposed ordinance envisions the utilization of solar energy by public schools in Iloilo, that would eventually save for the province millions of pesos each year in electricity costs.

Meanwhile, some 5 district hospitals and the Iloilo provincial hospitals are beginning to benefit from energy savings due to solar power use as mandated by the “Iloilo Provincial Ordinance on Renewable Energy (I-PORE) also authored by Distura.
