SEABOURN ENCORE, the Bahamas flagged cruise ship is expected to be at the Boracay shore on Monday, February 13.
The Mega Yacht Class vessel would be the first luxury cruise ship to visit the island since the Covid pandemic reached the Philippines in early 2020.
“We are happy that they (tourists in cruise ships) have returned,” tourism officer Felix Gregorio Delos Santos of Malay town told PNA on Friday.
Seabourn Encore is currently on a 28 days Southeast Asian cruise which started January 22 and would last February 19. It has a passenger range of 532 to 638 and a crew of 330, according to data from cruisemapper.com.
Meanwhile, Boracay has gradually opened up to foreign tourists since about middle of last year when travel protocols were no longer enforced.
